Robert Studte

Director and Chair

Robert James Studte has been a member of the Board since 2005, providing over two decades of leadership and continuity. He is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, demonstrating a longstanding dedication to professional excellence within the accounting and financial services sectors.

Robert has served as a Director and Chair of the Board since July 2024, bringing extensive experience in financial services, governance, and strategic leadership. He also serves as Chair and member of the Remuneration & Executive Committee and contributes to the Board Nomination Committee. In addition, Robert is an active participant across all Board committees, reflecting his strong commitment to organisational oversight and performance.

He holds a Graduate Certificate in Financial Planning (PS146 Compliant), a Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning, and a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting). These qualifications underpin his deep expertise in financial management, governance, and strategic planning.

Wayne has served as a Director since July 2009 and brings extensive experience in governance, legal practice, and risk oversight to the Board. Wayne is currently a member of the Board Risk Committee and Audit Committee and serves on the Remuneration & Executive Committee. Wayne previously held the role of Reserve Member of the Remuneration & Executive Committee and have contributed to the Board Nomination Committee.

A long-standing contributor, Wayne has been Deputy Chair of the Board since 2009, providing over a decade of insight and leadership. Wayne is a member of the NSW Law Society; Company Director, reflecting a strong commitment to professional excellence and the credit union sector.

Wayne holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Economics) and a Bachelor of Laws, underpinning a solid foundation in both financial and legal disciplines. In their professional capacity as a Solicitor, Wayne brings valuable expertise in legal governance, compliance, and risk management.

Geoffrey Harris

Geoffrey William Harris has served as a Director since 2024, bringing decades of leadership and deep institutional knowledge to the Board. He currently chairs the Trust Operations Committee and is a member of both the Board Risk Committee and the Board Nomination Committee.

Geoff’s association with the organisation spans over 20 years. His long-standing commitment reflects a strong dedication to the credit union sector and its members and has served as Manager of the Northern Inland Investment Trust. A highly respected leader in the financial services industry, Geoff previously held the role of Chief Executive Officer at Northern Inland Credit Union Ltd. His tenure as CEO was marked by strategic growth and a strong focus on member value, leaving a lasting legacy within the organisation.

Geoff holds a Diploma in Financial Services and brings extensive experience in governance, risk oversight, and financial management to his Board role.

Therese Turner

Director

Therese Turner joined the Board as a Non-Executive Director in February 2026, bringing more than 35 years of experience in financial services and a distinguished career within the customer-owned banking sector.

Therese has held five Chief Executive Officer roles, most recently as CEO of MOVE Bank, where she successfully led organisations through periods of transformation, growth, regulatory change, and increasing risk complexity. Her extensive executive background provides valuable insight into strategy, governance, and member-focused outcomes.

She also brings significant governance experience, having served nine years as an elected Director of the Customer Owned Banking Association (COBA), including as Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee. Her governance contributions extend to Director roles with CUFSS and CUFA.

Therese holds a Master of Business Administration, accounting qualifications, and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She is deeply committed to the mutual banking sector and is passionate about advancing customer-first values and improving financial wellbeing for members.

David Michael Winnick has been a dedicated member of the Board since 2014, contributing over a decade of insight and leadership.  and brings extensive experience in governance and business management to the Board. He is currently the Chair of the Board Risk Committee and a member of the Marketing Committee, having previously served as a member of the Board Risk Committee prior to his appointment as Chair in April 2024.

With a Bachelor of Business, David combines academic knowledge with practical expertise gained through his role as a Business Manager. His professional background supports his strong focus on strategic oversight, risk management, and organisational growth.

Sam Treloar is an experienced business leader and entrepreneur, bringing strong expertise in innovation, community engagement, and strategic development to the Board.

Sam is the Founder of DPARTMNT, a successful coworking and business hub in Tamworth that supports collaboration, entrepreneurship, and regional economic growth. Through this role, he has demonstrated a strong ability to develop and grow community-focused ventures, creating spaces that foster connection, creativity, and business success. 

With a background in financial services and professional affiliations including the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia, Sam combines commercial acumen with a deep understanding of governance and business operations. He has also completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors course, strengthening his governance capability and board-level expertise. 

Sam is passionate about regional development and the role that local enterprises and institutions play in supporting thriving communities. His collaborative approach and forward-thinking mindset contribute valuable perspective to the Board.

Anna Louise McMurtrie has served as a Director since April 2021 and brings valuable perspective through her background as a consultant. Her professional experience supports informed decision-making across financial oversight, organisational performance, and stakeholder engagement. Contributing strong expertise in financial management, governance, and strategic advisory Anna is a member of the Audit Committee and Marketing Committee and also serves on the Remuneration & Executive Committee.

 

She holds a Graduate Diploma in Financial Management and a Bachelor of Agricultural Economics and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. These qualifications underpin her strong understanding of governance, finance, and industry best practice.

Graham Russell Goodman has served as a Director since 2016 and brings significant governance, financial oversight, and strategic experience to the Board. He currently chairs the Audit Committee and is a member of the Marketing Committee, Board Risk Committee, and Board Nomination Committee. 

He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Economics), providing a solid foundation in financial and economic principles that underpin his contributions to audit, risk, and organisational strategy. As a retired professional, Graham offers independent, objective insight and a wealth of experience across his Board responsibilities.

Robert John Carrington has served as a Director since 2000 and currently chairs the Marketing Committee while also serving as a member of the Audit Committee. Robert brings more than two decades of governance experience and a deep understanding of Northern Inland Credit Union and its members. Throughout his tenure, he has contributed to the organisation's growth and ongoing commitment to delivering value to members and the communities it serves.

As a retired professional, Robert offers a wealth of experience and a strong appreciation for the principles of member-owned banking. His long-standing service and commitment to good governance continue to support the Board's strategic oversight and decision-making.
