Update to our smartPAY App 28 Sept 2017

The Tap & Pay feature within our smartPAY app is being switched off on 28 September 2017.

When our banking app was launched the technology behind this feature was market leading, and while it continues to provide a secure method for contactless payments via an Android phone, newer technology now exists in the form of Android PayTM and Samsung Pay (being released in the coming months).
As we already offer our Members Android Pay (and Apple Pay for Apple users) we have made the decision not to upgrade the Tap & Pay service within our banking app, and instead switch it off. Our smartPAY app will continue to offer all the other functionality you know and love, including:


  • Check your balance
  • Block/ Unblock your card
  • Report a lost or stolen card
  • Notify us if you are travelling overseas
  • Transfer funds to other Northern Inland Members
  • Transfer funds to external bank accounts through Pay Anyone
  • Make BPay payments
  • Load new payees
  • Change your PIN
  • Find your nearest rediATM or Branch

There is no reason for you to stop using your phone to make easy everyday purchases. We have made Android Pay available for you (and Samsung Pay will soon be here), so you can choose the solution that works for you and your phone. For further information, refer to our smartPAY FAQs page.
