School Banking

Attention: open in a new window. Print

Northern Inland's School Banking Program is offered at participating schools and is available to all students from Kindergarten to Year 6 to provide an interactive, engaging experience to learn about money and to develop good saving habits.

If you would like to be involved in our school banking program, contact us on 1300 656581.

How does it work?

  • Students open up a Super Saver account with Northern Inland, with their parent or legal guardian as a signatory
  • Students learn to develop regular saving skills by depositing an amount into their Super Saver account weekly (or as often as they can) at their school on selected days
  • Students are rewarded for good saving habits by receiving a prize after every eighth deposit made at the school. The prize is predetermined per school term.

What type of account is needed for school banking?

Students open a Super Saver Account either at our Northern Inland branches, or on allocated days at the school if applicable.

  • A complimentary School Banking Super Saver pack is received when the account is opened
  • Students receive their own fun deposit book to track their savings
  • Account is fee free when used with online banking and online statements. Other fees apply, refer to the Fees & Charges/Member Loyalty Program product fact sheet for more information.
  • Interest is calculated daily and paid annually

What identification is required to open an account for school banking?

An account can be opened by the parent in the childs name, when an original birth certificate or birth extract is presented. Parents will be required as a signatory on the account and identification is required (eg. current Driver’s license or Passport).

If someone other than the parent (example grandparent) is present, the account is to be opened in the adult's name on trust for the child. Identification for the adult and child is required to be produced. Refer to the Account Opening Information sheet for further information.
